Privacy Policy

Boretti processes personal data from its relations. We do this to provide our customers an optimal customer experience, and to achieve our goals. This privacy statement aims to explain why and how we process your personal data.

Who are we?
We are Boretti: Boretti creates iconic kitchen appliances and stylish barbecues in an exceptional Italian style. We aim to bring the 'Italian Kitchen Lifestyle' right into your home. This privacy statement covers all our processing of data.

Boretti BV is located at Abberdaan 114 (1046 AA) in Amsterdam.

Which personal data do we process?
We process the following personal data:

First and last name, address, place of residence, telephone number, gender, e-mail address, participant details (events and / or meetings), payment details, areas of interest (e.g. 'cooking' or 'search'), job title, photos, contact history, IP address, social ID, cookie ID (read more about cookies in our cookie statement) and surfing habits.

Why do we process personal data?
We process personal data for the following purposes:

Regulatory obligations
Part of our processing is required by law. This mainly concerns personal data which are required to meet our tax liability. But it can also be in the event of disaster, for example, that we must process personal data at Boretti.

Customer administration and customer service
In our customer administration we record who purchased at our store, including all relevant contact details. We store various personal details of our customers in order to deliver our services as optimally as possible. We keep contact details to transport your order and to provide you with the best possible information, we process personal data for our market research and participant details to plan our events in the best possible way.

You can reach us through various channels: telephone, mail, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube for example. To make this access available we also need to process personal data.

Newsletters and mailings
You can register with us to receive newsletters. Sometimes personalized, and sometimes not. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters, you can unsubscribe in every email.

Privacy Guarantee
In order to collect, send and evaluate the Privacy Guarantee audits, contact details are processed.

Recruitment and acquisition (marketing)
Boretti moves closely connected to the ever-changing market, and that is why we approach new customers, sponsors, speakers for events, experts for inspiration sessions, and we recruit new colleagues as well. To maintain contact with everyone we also process contact details.

Setting up Boretti campaigns (and brand-related campaigns such as our events) requires processing of personal data as well. For example, IP address, cookie ID, social ID and / or surfing behaviour. It enables us to advertise in the right places the most relevant advertisements.

We also use 'adapted target groups' for Boretti (and brand related campaigns) via social media platforms. We use therefor Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn targeting as well. On these platforms (personalized) advertisements can be posted. We do not pass on personal data to third parties unless you have given unambiguous consent.

Note: You may still see posted Boretti ads after unsubscribing if you are part of a general target group we focus our advertisement on.

Improving Boretti services
We also record personal data for the improvement of our services. For example, click behaviour on the website to analyse which articles attract most readers and opening rates to see if our newsletters are relevant.

Special data
We process 2 types of special personal data. Namely gender and ethnicity (photos). We process gender to be able to address you with 'madam' or 'sir'. We process photos to add more ambiance to our content. Processing of these data will not be used for other purposes.

Rights of all involved parties

Information and inspection
Of course, you can inspect which personal data we process from you. We would also like to tell you more about how and why we process these data.

Rectification: You noticed we have wrong data of yours? Let us know and we will adjust.

Right to be forgotten: You can always delete the personal data we stored from you. It may be that for other purposes (administration or deduplication, for example) we still need to process them.

Constraint: If you feel that we are processing your personal data wrongfully or incorrectly, you can have that processing limited as well.

Objection (protest): You can appeal the processing of your personal data. Does it concern marketing? Then we will terminate that processing as soon as possible.

Transferability: There is a new right under the AVG to get your personal data transferred. If you would like to claim this right, please contact us.

In addition, you are also allowed to:

Revoke permission: For example, for receiving e-mailings. If you wish to withdraw permission for other types of processing, please contact us.

Complain to the AP: Do you think that we do not act in accordance with privacy laws? Then of course we would like to hear that. You can also submit a complaint about this to the AP after 25 May 2018.

Retention period
We do not store personal data longer than necessary.

Principles of processing
As explained above, we process some data to perform a legal duty, some to perform an agreement (service contract, event) and most of them to manage the legitimate interest of Boretti: to perform to reach our objectives. Finally, we process some data with your consent: this mainly concerns online tracking methods to better align our services with the target group or customer needs.

Third party receivers
For the implementation of our services we use service providers. These are not ‘third party receivers’ but processors. For example, we work together with transport companies to get your order delivered on a specified address. These parties process personal data in accordance with Boretti's instructions.

Sometimes we are legally obliged to provide personal data to third parties; such as the tax authorities. Furthermore, we will provide data to third parties only if we have received your consent.

You may find on the websites of Boretti references to other websites or organizations. If you use these references, you will enter a different environment with possibly a different privacy statement.

We use cookies on the websites of Boretti. We use them to improve our services, to ensure optimal functioning of our website, for the efficient execution of our campaigns and for the purposes described in our privacy statement.
